Learning is a journey. I have a map but you have the wheels

As a lifelong learner I understand the importance of an effective teacher. I have been teaching and assisting college level classes for 2 years as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. During this time I have taught 6 classes consisting of introductory microbiology, microbial genetics and general biology. As a classroom teacher I quickly learned to engage each student individually. I prefer tutoring because I can tailor my instruction to a specific student. Children have different learning styles so it is my responsibility as the instructor to adapt lessons to maximize learning for each child. Ideally I am able to guide a student to realize concepts in their own terms rather then dictate facts to them.
