I like to teach using a hands-on approach. I believe the best way to learn is to do or at least attempt to do. I really find satisfaction when I see the “light bulb” go off and there is a glimmer if understanding in the eyes of my pupil.
For the past 10 years I have been teaching a wide variety of students ranging in age from their 80’s to 8. I obtained my BS in Information Technology which gives me a vast knowledge of computer applications, networking, and technical communications. I have specialize training in “The Gentle Teaching Method” pertaining to the developmentally challenged student. I have discovered that this method works with traditional learners as well. I am extremely patient and believe that all children possess individual learning skills and I am dedicated to discovering which technique to use to motivate your child to find their academic success.
As a non-traditional student, earning an Associates in Applied Science Degree majoring in Respiratory Therapy at Shawnee State University I excelled in both Science and English. I have written several essays, lab reports, and presentations and have been published in Guidepost Magazine. I have experience as a tutor and mentor from elementary (all subjects) to college level (science and English) students. I also have experience with developmentally challenged students.
