Writing is one of my top subjects!

I am a huge supporter students tutoring students. I have found that working with students helps to take down a barrier between the tutor and tutee. Students are more comfortable to work with peers than an authority. My first priority is to listen, listen to what the tutee is looking to get out of the experience. Each student's needs are different and you have to plan around them. When I am tutoring I strive to make the tutee vocal. I like to allow students to think for themselves and see how they approach the challenge. I am there to guide their thinking process and strengthen their knowledge not lecture to them.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated National-Louis University with a 3.7 GPA, and am also in the Kappa Delta Pi honors society for teaching. I have had many years of experience in the classroom, and with many different programs. I also have tutored previously for Sylvan tutoring. I am a Golden Apple Scholar, which is a prestigious award for teaching scholars that I won my senior year of high school. My experience has mostly been with younger students but recently I have tutored some high school students, as well.
I am very passionate about teaching. I am a very hands-on type of teacher that really likes to get the student involved in their learning. My goal is to enhance the knowledge of children through the implementation of their best learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or tactile) and to motivate the students to pursue further learning and personal experience in the topic we are studying. I treat my clients with respect and ask for it in return.
