A Little Bit About Me...

As a college graduate with two degrees in business and working on a graduate business degree, I have found myself useful to many students at the college and high school levels. I have tutored many business subjects at the college level and math and language subjects at the high school level. I have a passion for learning and an equal passion to help others learn. In all the instances that I have tutored and all the students I have observed an increase in performance. I am glad to have been able to help students and the community.
I love to see the glimmer in students' eyes when they understand information and make the necessary connections. My first priority is to encourage students in obtaining the self-confidence for mastery. I believe that all some students need is a few successes to make a drastic difference in their performance. I teach students to view information in a new li ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have learned that teaching is the activity of educating or instructing. It is the process of imparting knowledge or skill. It's about not only motivating students to learn, but teaching them how to learn, and doing so in a manner that is relevant, meaningful, and memorable. Teaching is about caring for your craft, having a passion for it, and conveying that passion to everyone, most importantly to your students. A teacher is a person, who educates others. A Good teacher will listen, question, is responsive and remembers that each student and each class is different.
As a graduate and substituting, I am driven to become a proud member of the Masters program in Education. I have extensive experience on school improvement committees and after-school activities/programs. I have years of experience teaching grades K-12. I want to obtain the position of tutor where I am able to utiliz ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

All through my career my focus has been to teach to the needs of the individual student. I believe that learning is fun. I believe that all students can learn, given the proper encouragement. I have fun when I teach. I have very high expectations for my students, all of which have experienced some sort of difficulty in the educational system. My classroom is a place of smiles, laughter, and achievement. As a tutor, I bring the same beliefs to the table. I have two main objectives for any student: to create a positive, encouraging learning environment; and to help the student find his personal learning style and train him to use it efficiently. If you’re looking for someone to help cram for a test, I’m not your man.

More About This Tutor...

I am a lover of learning. My love for learning has certainly attributed to my working my way through a Masters of Arts in Teaching. My enthusiasm for helping others to learn has been most heightened; however, through my experience working with students. I have worked in multiple roles at the elementary school level through collegiate level. Every position I have worked in I have loved because of the students. Each person has their own learning needs and own challenges. I love being a part of working through those challenges and finding understanding and success.
I find that teaching is as much about getting to know each person, finding there strengths and weaknesses and using those to benefit them in their process of understanding. I like to come up with creative approaches that will suit each individual's strengths for learning. I know that one on one attention, support and encour ... read more

I was also responsible for watching and tutoring a boy in elementary school for two years. In my internships and practicums, I have had a lot of hands-on experience.
I truly believe all children can learn. I am very student-centered as I know that each child learns in different ways.
