I Love to work with children to transfer knowledge and help them learn difficult to understand concepts. Currently, I volunteer 3 hours every Sunday to teach 6th through 9th graders. We start with a lesson (eg. ratio, percent, geometry, algebra, or probability), then move to a quiz or test. Finally, we end with a Math Jeapordy game or a Math Millionare Game. Students are excited to do the Jeopardy and win a prize. I believe learning should be fun and we use a lot of materials from the internet. I earned Associate’s degrees in Liberal Arts and Accounting, as well as a Certificate in Office Technology. I had the highest GPA for both the Certificate and the AS in Accounting at the same time. I then achieved my Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from Excelsior College in 1996. I have worked in the Accounting field for over 25 years, moving up from an Accounting clerk to Staff Accountant to my current position as Controller in a small insurance agency.
