I'm PhD physicist with more than 20 years of tutoring experience at all possible levels and with variety of students ranging from gifted kids of elementary school to PhD students of Wash Uni as well as active tutors themselves.<><><><> I'm really patient (even with my own kids!) and start with putting myself in my student's shoes. I'm using variety of tools to deliver knowledge: verbal, visual, graphical, math formulas, examples from everyday life! From my point of view there is no concept or problem which cannot be approached by anyone with any experience at least to some extent. Sure that might take some time and efforts but that's it. I try to discern how the student I am tutoring learns best, whether it's by just doing examples, or visually by physically relating the material to something easier to understand. After I have found out how best to teach my student, I am able to move forward and help them to the best of my ability.
