I taught public school for 4 years before getting a masters degree in Religious Education with a Concentration in Childhood Education. I wanted to complement my undergraduate Elementary Education degree. Therefore, I choose the childhood education concentration at seminary. Then I was a Assoicate Pastor for Children for over 13 years where I supervised paid workers and planned activities for a children's ministry at a local church. I had to maintain a budget for this ministry in the amount of $38,000. Over the course of all of these years, I have learned a vast array of skills. I love working with children of all ages. I am a graduate of Florida A&M University with a BS in Political Science, I am currently completing my MA degree at Barry Univeristy in Tallahassee, Fla. I was a Resource Teacher and wokred in the Innovation School of Execellence. I was Executive Director at a Christian Academy in Live Oak, Florida. I was also Director of the SES program (that was a sub-site)at our academy. I staffed 15 employees, 5 of which was retired accredited teacher. I also taught in our SES program. I enjoy working with children. I know that all children are capable of learning and they believe if you believe. We taught the State of Florida ABECA style of teaching. I have had experience teaching at the college level in art and digital foundations and teaching English to second-language learners in the k-8 range. I also have prior one-on-one tutoring experience in the k-6 range in English and math. My experience studying art, art history, and critical theory has made me an adaptable, agile instructor. I rely on my ability to approach teaching through creativity and critical thinking. If a student is struggling with one method of instruction I can quickly switch to another mode of explanation, such as, using a more visual approach. I find interacting with students and watching the learning process unfold an invigorating experience, which makes me an energetic instructor.
