English ESOL is one of my top subjects! In 2012 I received my TEFL certification from the International TEFL Academy. Since that time I have been teaching English as a second language in Costa Rica with two language institutes. I have experience with all levels of English proficiency. My Bachelor's degree is in Speech-Language Pathology, making my specialty teaching English pronunciation and conversation. My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I tutored ESL students for 3 years at an academy and privately. I am currently enrolled in a class to receive a TEFL/TESOL certification.

A student cannot learn unless he is comfortable and confident. My first priority before teaching is to make sure the student is relaxed and believes he can accomplish the goal. I also like to get to know my student to know what kind of learner he is and what he likes. My teaching style is "delight directed" whenever possible.
In 2001, I received my certification in Elementary Education from CCSU. I then substitute taught for the town of West Hartford for 2 years while I got married and had my son. He had a lot of health problems so the decision was made for me to stay home with him. For the past four years, I have been a seventh grade Reading and Language Arts teacher in an inner city school. I love my students and my co-workers. The bilingual students I teach have a unique challenge in that the letters of the alphabet represent different sounds in English versus Spanish.
