Let's make it happen!

I'm a recent graduate so I'm very fresh and up to date on technical skills as well as trending design. I've mentored many of my peers at school as I like to help my friends and they seek me out because of my reputation as a good designer. I still get called back to help even though I've since graduated. The best help I can offer is art direction as far as finishing pieces and preparing a body of work for your portfolio. My technical expertise is in Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop, in that order. I'm also able to help with web design, CSS3 and HTML5.
Very casual! I've signed up as a tutor just so I can meet some new people and because I genuinely like to help others. I also find working with another designer, even someone just starting out, very inspiring. I definitely want to establish a peer-to-peer dynamic rather than a teacher-student one.

Graphic Design is one of my top subjects! I attended one of the best advertising and graphic design schools in the country. The education I took away was priceless. I understand the communication industries from the ground up and feel confident I can help anyone understand and excel in this area. My comments on tutoring Graphic Design : I have over 15 years experiences as a professional desktop publisher/graphic designer and have wards for my art direction and graphic production management. I teach in a relaxed, casual manner, emphasizing an individuals strengths and helping them realize their goals by teaching through n individually created project basis.

I prefer a relaxed, casual teaching style where I emphasis the clients strengths and skills and work off their personality and interest to get them invested in their desire to learn. I do not believe in the 'tutorial' method. Tutorials teach but do not ingrain the learning experience because they do not create an individualized need to retain the process. I help the learner create a individualized project and discover how to achieve the goal of realizing the final creative piece. This helps the learner become invested in the learning process, and helps them retain what they have learned by creating a personalized importance on their acquired knowledge. In essence I work hard at making sure no one feels 'dumb' for not knowing what they want to learn.
