I am working on a master's degree in communication.

I am currently a substitute teacher at Mountain Grove Schools. My practicum was completed at Mountain Grove Elementary. Subjects taught include math, science, reading and social studies. I have worked one-on-one with students who need extra help. My coursework includes child development and exceptional children. I just earned my bachelor's degree this past May at Drury.

1) Give the person you are turtoring an opportunity to tell you where they are having a problem. 2) While working through problems monitor the person you are tutoring to see if there are other problems. 3) Suggest changes. Never force them. There isn't one correct way. Make a suggestion on how to improve and explain why you are making the suggestion. 4) Do multiple versions of a similar problem. The first time I will complete the problem, explaining each step. The next time the person I am tutoring will guide me through the problem, telling me what to do next. Then the person being tutored will do the problem while I observe. 5)Let them make mistakes. Explain why it is a mistake and show them how to detect it in the future.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love English and Reading. I have the goal of brining my love of reading to all students. I am patient and considerate and always have the children's best interest in mind. Their learnig always comes first. I believe that all child can complete the tasks they have been give with a litte encouragement and the appropriate surroudings.
