In obtaining my master's degree in communication at the Elliott School of Communication at Wichita State University, I have acquired the necessitated skills for this position. I was a graduate teaching assistant and taught interpersonal communication and public speaking. I was also hired by the Communication Upward Bound program to teach English literature to high school students. I believe every person has her or his own learning style. The best way to get a child to understand her or his own potential is to get to know each individual student. It takes a little more time, but making sure each student knows I care about their individual success has enabled me to teach those who never thought they would be able to speak in public to do so.
