I absolutely love teaching. I have considered continuing my education and pursuing a secondary education teaching degree. I believe I am patient and kind, and provide a learning experience that is most beneficial to all. I think that students can have fun while learning, and I try to combine fun into my teachings. Although so many students don't believe it, anyone can solve a math problem! They just need to understand how to look at the problem the right way. Since I have tutored for several years, I've found that every person learns slightly differently. The key to how I teach is to figure out how that person best learns. There is no such thing as a stupid person, just one who hasn't been taught in a way that they can understand yet. Sometimes, while defining a problem, it is also important to look at the problem critically and identify why certain attributes are arranged in a certain order. Good visualization is also very important in Mathematics and the Sciences; therefore, I make heavy use of illustrations and the graphing calculator. It is very helpful to know how to instruct the student in the use of the calculator, (TI83/84) as this is also useful in problem-solving. I believe that you cannot do everything for the student. You have to find their learning style and then develop upon that to be able to open the door to learning of the subjects. There is no such thing as a good teacher with out a learning student. I have graduated from Wichita State with a BA of General Studies with a minor in chemistry, biology, physics, and sociology.
