A Little Bit About Me...

I have volunteered for both summer camps (at local science museum) and at vacation bible school programs. I worked at a daycare for 2 years working with a 2 year old class, then worked as a preschool teacher for another year and a half. I have also worked as a Latin tutor, both for a semester as a teaching assistant to a high school class, and periodically with individual students while in college. Currently I am working on helping develop a summer science camp course at a local museum.
I feel like it is important to connect to students on a personal level yet still retain a professional attitude. Children tend to respond to someone who is fun and friendly, instead of a person who chooses not to connect with students in this way. Effective teaching requires clear instructing. I attempt to break each assignment down to its simplest level. Ideas must be transformed into practical, relevant information that enable students to make difficult concepts easy to understand and comprehend.
