Composition is one of my top subjects! As the child of a novelist, there was an extremely heavy emphasis on composition in my education.

Let's start out by saying I am definitely not your average tutor! Fun is vital to motivation, and I live on the stuff! I have been teaching for over fifteen years in a variety of environments, working in inclusive environments with children aged birth to twelve. I am now in my second year as a Special Education Teacher at a private school in DC that specializes in working with children who have Learning and Emotional Disabilities. I hold my M.Ed.HD in Special Education from GWU and a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. During the summer, I serve as the Behavior Intervention Specialist for Fairfax County Park Authority in Inclusion camps. Even in high school and college, I tutored peers and proofread papers. My comments on tutoring Composition : I have been pretty good in English. My mom has her BA in English and I have defiantly picked up her English genes

I am currently a senior at Sherando High School in Stephens City, VA. I have always been and A and B student. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and received a 1300 on my SATs. I love to help others out in any way possible. I love to meet new people and help them achieve in school so they can a have promising future! I have taken Honors World History I and II, I have taken College Prep English 11 and am currently in College Prep English 12. I am in my high school’s Marching band and Symphonic band; I play the clarinet and bass clarinet, and have been in band for 7 years. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a 2014 graduate of Marymount University where I received a Masters in Special Education. I have teaching experience at both the elementary and middle school levels. In middle school, I focused on teaching 7th grade Math, but am comfortable in Language Arts as well. Along with teaching, I have been a nanny for many years and therefore have experience with kids beyond the classroom.
I believe each person is unique and different. Therefore, my teaching style is individualized depending on the student and their needs. I do however believe in a hands-on, interactive approaches in order to keep students engaged and interested in learning.
