German Tutor, Guitar Instructor, Paraprofessional

I began learning German and French when I was 16 and in High School, then immediately continued my studies in College at University of Northern Colorado, where I am currently a double major in the two languages. I will be a Senior this year. Within my experience, I have traveled to Germany thrice, two of those times to study through the college. I have also studied abroad for French in Québec. My knowledge of the literature of these languages has been greatly extended within my studies at the University. I am the German Tutor for the University during the school year. I have been playing guitar for seven years, and have taught lessons at times throughout. I have basic music theory training. I have seven years of experience sharing my passion for mathematics, science and learning with students. I taught students with a spectrum of backgrounds, from English language learners to undergraduates. Though my degree is in Biology and I began my career teaching science, I have been teaching math for the last four years. I love teaching kids. Kids absorb new things like a sponge and often need things taught in a variety of ways in order to fully comprehend a subject. Regarding math, I use real-world examples to show how a particular concept is important. Then, I show the method to solve the problem. Next, I have the student teach me how to solve the problem. Finally, I have the student do practice problems in order to master the material. Practice indeed makes perfect. I hold students accountable for completed homework.
