Business student at Florida Atlantic University. I graduated from A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts with honors in the visual arts, specializing in Architecture and Mathematics. I have also tutored for 4 years now while in school by teaching a wide variety of subjects to students from the ages of 5-20.
I use a Reciprocal/Practice based tutoring style. This an effective method because it allows me to interact with the student and help them grow more efficiently while holding an open discussion environment in each lesson. I then reinforce it with practice based assignments which are followed up with reviews in the beginning of the following class. This makes the student not only memorize definitions, but to also understand the reasoning behind different concepts.

I spent ten years as a substitute teacher for middle and high school. I volunteered to assist teachers. I did this because my son had difficulty learning. I worked with him until he graduated, he’s doing great and tested out of college math through geometry. I have an AA degree from FL Community College with additional classes in Education from UNF. I’ve taken further courses from Flathead Valley CC in Montana on learning disabilities & strategies to overcome them. I have gained a great deal of insight on helping kids learn & achieve success. I graduated from FSU in December 2008. I have Certification in Social Studies grades 6-12. I completed my internship in a 6th grade geography class. I have also tutored in elementary math. I feel comfortable in most subjects up to 8th grade.
I would have to say that during my internship my teaching style was visual and audible teaching. I would make PowerPoint presentations, explain them, and work through them with my students. When tutoring math I would take my student step by step through example problems and then allow them to complete their own work under my supervision.

With my MBA, I became a plant Chemical Engineer for Pratt & Whitney, then into Marketing and Communication Engineer. Started a land development company as their President. Left P&W and went back to school to receive my Doctorate. Started a church and ran missions and development in third world countries, for the past 17 years.
