My pedagogical approach is founded upon space creating – creating an atmosphere that allows for each student to express themselves and become a valuable part of their own learning process. Without the student and their own initiative, minimal learning will take place. Such an approach provides students with a language of critique and critical understanding of the subject matter at hand. I seek to employ a more radical form of tutoring - one that gets to the root of the subject so the student fully grasps the concepts and information, rather than regurgitating the material.
I hold an AA and BA in Political Studies and I am currently working towards my Master of Arts in Political Science specializing in political philosophy and theory. I have grown up in an education oriented household with both parents as teachers (Dad Chemistry and Mom English). Since earing my degree in CIS I have had 10 years of industry experience as well as having worked as a substitute teacher in both the Galesburg (CUSD #205, 200-2001) and Peoria (District 150,2007-Present) School Districts.
I believe everyone has their own aptitude for learning and will endeavor to discover each childs unique style for learning to help them strive to do their best in each endeavor they apply themselves to. My goal is to provide the best education possible and work with their own unique personalities on how to get them there. My parents and educators were a big factor in my life growing up and I hope to pass along some of that insight, knowledge and passion for learning that they taught me.

Teaching and learning is deeply rooted in my being, children are my joy, and I truly believe all are capable of learning.
