I am very good at tutoring in English, English as a Second Language, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, spelling, basic math, especially percentages and fractions, I can tutor very basic algebra, Business English, Spanish, Machine Calculations, Keyboarding I and II, which is Beginning and Intermediate Typing, how to use the computer (search the Internet, use the mouse, keyboard, Microsoft Word, and things of that nature. I can also tutor Basic Excel. I have eight years experience tutoring these subjects at Shasta College and did a really good job.
I teach in patterns and find methods to make things easier for the student to learn. This is how I learn everything. I will explain what I am tutoring until the student totally understands. I have been an elementary school teacher for nearly 18 years. I taught for 7 years in Elk Creek and 10 years in Los Molinos where I currently teach 2nd and 3rd grade. I earned Glenn County Teacher of the Year in 1998 and Tehama County Teacher of the Year in 2007. I was also named Glenn County Teacher of the Week for Channel 7 News in 1999. From 1992 to 1996 I trained in study skills for the History and Geology departments at Chico State through the Equity Services Office.
