A Little Bit About Me...

I am a college student at Coastal Carolina University. Willing to help anyone that needs tutoring. I am a junior studying Biological Chemistry. I am knowledgeable in many different fields besides science. Every subject I've listed I can teach to anyone willing to learn. I am a local from the area so I have a good understanding of the curriculum in the Horry county school system. I am able to teach any (k-12) material.
My teaching style is different for every person. I have to asses each individual student find out what their strong and weak points are before they can fully benefit from my tutor sessions. I am easy going, friendly, and honest. My only goal is to teach the material so the student will fully understand, remember, and enjoy what he/she is learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

Very visual, hands on techniques will usually help children more than regular teaching styles.
I have attended Carolina Forest Elementary School, Ocean Bay Middle School, and Carolina Forest High School. I am now attending Horry Georgetown Technical College. I have had prior experience in helping or educating children/ people when I worked at Ripleys Aquarium as an Educator and also occasionally helped in Kids Club by helping children with homework and other questions and help they seeked. My comments on tutoring Composition : I was an English major in college and writing is one of my passions. When teaching 4th grade, narrative writing was one of my favorite things to teach, and it showed in my students' performance.

As mentioned in my earlier description, I have eighteen years experience as an educator. I have taught students of all ages from early childhood through college and non-traditional adult education. I believe in making learning fun and engaging by relating concepts to points of interest for the individual student.
Tutoring differs from teaching in that "style" is replaced by method. Some of the methods I have used in the past are rhythm and music, neumonic devices, and of course, drill and practice. I have been told that I am gifted with presenting material in novel ways.

I have over 21 years of experience in law enforcement. In each of those years I was required to instruct others in numerous subjects. Those years gave me a sense of discipline and motivation which I applied to my students learning experiences. During my lifetime, I have experienced a wide variety of professional exposures, and I did my best to master each one. This gives me a tremendously broad base of practical knowledge to impart to others.
