A Little Bit About Me...

I love to interact with somebody who is curious and interested in the subject, no matter what the subject. In mathematics, I believe in a very thorough and conceptual understanding of the subject, which enhances one's ability to use the knowledge in real-world settings, not just memorization of formulae and equations. Understanding, rather than memorization, is also crucial for the student who will continue to learn more advanced subjects in mathematics.
At my undergraduate program, my professor for a course in Symbolic Logic asked to refer students in the class to me, if they had questions about the material. I have been teaching in the homeschool community for about 10 years. I have learn many skills on how to handle different classroom situations. I tautht cross county, physical education, critical thinking skills, sewing, and all the other core courses. I volunteered in a local private school to assist when they would need me. As of this October I started teaching at a local tutoring center. Currently, I am teaching on a "on call basis" at a local college.
My philiosphy is to motivate through praise. I believe in speaking words of encouragement to the students. I have seen positive words manifest into good results for the students.
