A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching, I find it to be one of the most rewarding expeirences not only for the learner but for the teacher as well. Although my experience is with adult learners, I would welcome the opportunity to work with children. I had an opportunity to volunteer as a big sister for the BBBS organization and I really enjoyed the interaction between myself and my 5th grade mentee. As a graduate from both Bellarmine and Sullivan University, I was very head strong about my education. Earning two degrees was very difficult for me due to my learning disabilities. I have Dyslexia, ADHD, and a deficit in Reading Comprehension. I have overcome everything that came my way in my educational path. I have mentored and taught 5th grade children in the bible at Southeast Christian Church for going on two years now and thoroughly enjoy teaching them.
I have always felt the joys working with children. I feel that everyone with learning disabilities can succeed; they just need motivation and perseverance. A Little Bit About Me...

For the last three years I have worked as a physics and mathematics tutor. Unlike most tutors I have experience teaching on the college level. I worked as an assistant physics professor at Eastern Kentucky University during my last year of undergraduate study. Currently I have a BS in Physics Engineering, which has allowed me to gain a thorough understanding of physics and mathematics. This fall I will start graduate school in which I will be pursuing a MS in physics. I will work as a graduate teaching assistant, in which I will also have to teach college students in physics. I believe each student can learn and it’s my responsibility to find how each one learns best. So much of it is about instilling confidence in the student that he or she is intelligent and capable of mastering the subject. I have been very successful at this and have often had short tutoring assignments: once we discover what is keeping a student from grasping the subject, fixing it is easy and then the student can proceed on their own with or without the help of a parent.
