A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent a career in science. I believe that quality one on one or small group teaching is the best way to improve an understanding of what can be complicated concepts and have them make sense. I am willing to meet either at your place, my house or a library where distractions can be minimized. Finally, my style of teaching includes a discussion to improve study skills so that we can assess then address your needs so that you can budget your time accordingly. I am willing to teach in the junior high, high school or undergraduate levels.
Since graduation college, I have been employed in the private sector of environmental chemistry laboratories. Part of my responsibilities include teaching and training new employees. In my science teaching, I always utilized the learning by doing method by making use of field experience and laboratory exercises. In mathematics, I mostly attempted to teach my students good problem solving skills.
I taught 11 years, grades 6-12 in the subjects of mathematics 6-12, physical science, life science, earth science, biology, chemistry and physics at Union Schools, Brownfield, Texas and Plains Schools at Plains Texas. I was a learning center director for 7 1/2 years and finally a director of Media and Technology at Education Service Center - Region 17 at Lubbock, Texas.
