A Little Bit About Me...

Since graduating with my Chemistry degree in 1997, I have volunteered off and on within the classroom, mentoring and tutoring children of all ages. I have several younger siblings and children of my own, so I have taken the many opportunities to go in and out of the classroom as a classroom parent, after school program teacher, guest speaker, and mentor and judge for the Future City competition (an annual engineering competition for middle school children). My industry is nuclear. I have taken many opportunities to speak with students about considering the nuclear field and sharing my own experiences in the industry.

A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy hands on learning/teaching style. I think students learn better by doing, though learning to take better notes helps with being able to do more hands on. I have always liked working with students, and have taken some education courses. I think it is very important to make learning more fun.
I graduated Cum Laude, in English literature. I have always done well in English, and have always enjoyed reading and writing. I was a member of STD, the English Honors Society, and loved helping out with various events. I have privately tutored middle and elementary school students, in which they all received better grades than the year before.
