My comments on tutoring Sociology : I have a BA Degree in Sociology with an education concentration. I provide an understanding of sociology concepts and practices.

Denver Summer Scholars - Lead computer tutor - Taught 3 classes a day with 15 students in each class. I used computer software to tutor students in math and language arts. My students were ESL at Risk students. Tree of Knowledge - I tutored 15 students during the 2011 to 2012 school year in Language Arts and Math. My students increase their pre tutoring scores by a minimum of 25%. My students included at risk and special ed students in first to fifth grade. This was one on one tutoring. I try as much as possible to appeal to as many learning styles as I can in each situation. Not only does this increase the amount of understanding in the student, but it also increases the amount of retention. I pay close attention to what works the best for each student. If the student learns the best visually, then I write a lot down. I read aloud and explain for auditory learners, and so on. The most efficient way is to read, write, repeat, explain (by putting it in real life situations/experiential- that intrigues the individual's interest) for most students.

A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have no formal teaching experience, we all learn and teach everyday in our lives. I am very intelligent and want to pass that on. I have done much reading when I was younger, exploring memory and mnemonics. I also took the Mega-Memory and speed reading courses by Kevin Trudeau. They are the ones that are in the Skymall catalog. I believe those really helped me in my studies, because I learned to approach learning the same way I approached sports.
