Ahrend R. Torrey is a Mississippi spiritual poet- painter. His poetry relates to nature and spirituality but most of all life and what he experiences through his life journey. Torrey delights in the fact that all things are poetry, and strives daily for the creative mission for which he has been called. I believe learning should be fun and creative and that children should have an environment that is friendly and caring to learn in. I think teachers should be patient with their difficulties and take time to give them the one on one attention that they need. I like thematic units and hands on activities. I like to teach reading and english. I like to use whole group, small groups, paired reading activities. I like to use magazines, newspapers, children's books and other materials that interest the students to teach reading.
I greatly enjoy seeing the students achieve their learning goals and their yearly progress In 2000, I began to teach special education and teaching special needs children with learning disabilities.
