A Little Bit About Me...

I have three teenagers at home. I began as a substitute teacher in 2005. I worked in a life skills classroom for one and a half years. After graduating with my Bachelor's degree I worked as a resource and content mastery teacher for 4 years in grades K-5 teaching all subjects. I worked for one year in grades K-5 as a resource teacher for Reading, Math, and Language Arts. This is my first year as an inclusion teacher. I have worked with students of all abilities and disabilities. I have also provided in-home training for parents of children with disabilities.

I'm certified in both elementary general and special education. I've taught for the past 19 years. I have my masters in educational administration and will soon be a certified educational diagnostician. My favorite subjects are reading and math. I can tutor/teach writing but it's not my favorite subject. My philosophy is that every child can learn but our job as teachers is to figure out the best way to meet their learning needs. I have been in the medical field for 23 years. I have taught Medical Associates Degree, Medical Coding and Medical Assisting Certification programs for 9 of those years concurrently. I have worked in medical offices, hospital, and diagnostic clinics. Curriculum development at area colleges in the Dallas area for medical programs.
