A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a first grade teacher for five years. I took a break from the classroom for a few years to raise my small children. Currently I'm tutoring first, second and third graders in reading and mathematics. My two children are in elementary school so I am familiar with current curriculum and different styles of learning.
I try to find each child's way of learning and help them to recognize and develop those skills. I incorporate hands-on manipulatives as well as large motor skills when teaching whenever possible. I also use music as a tool in learning.

I like to see children succeed, especially if I contribute to that progress. Teaching has been personal to me as I have regularly helped my nephew many times with his homework when he was younger.
