While I enjoy business, working with children is my passion, hence why I am pursuing my teaching certification. I believe the best way to teach students any skill is to let them have hands on experience with it. As an example, in order to learn business skills, students need to practice the skills and understand their relevance in the real world.
I have a strong business background, with an MBA, CPA, and CIA. However, as a student at Susquehanna University, I also volunteered at least 2 days a week at a local preschool where I helped teach the students. After graduating from Susquehanna University in 1993, I began substitute teaching for my former elementary school in Lincroft, NJ. I then took a full-time preschool teaching position for one year. During that time, I also tutored a first-grader weekly in math and language arts for a span of approximately nine months. After getting married and moving to PA, I took another full-time pre-K position for two years. I became a mom in 1997 and decided to stay home to raise my three children for nine years.
