I am passionate about music and English!

I have been playing and performing flute for 19 years. I began learning flute through the Suzuki method when I was 6 years old. I studied with Aniko Debreceny for 8 years. I graduated from Wheaton College Conservatory where I studied flute with Dr. Jennie Brown, and was a member of the Wheaton College Symphonic Band for 4 years. I took classes in Music Pedagogy. I had a combined degree at Wheaton for both music and English. Interactive! Students need to apply what they have learned, to reinforce the learning cycle.
My instructional experience includes over 230 credit hours of composition and language arts instruction, including creative writing, literary analysis and Shakespeare. However, most of the instruction has been focused on composition. I developed a bachelor level English course for Pearson Education, working as a writer on a team of three; the course was deployed nationally at over 100 campuses.

I started out as a Computer Instructor and enjoyed teaching computer classes but something was missing. My comments on tutoring Spelling : I would put "expert" as I loved placing in spelling bees throughout my years...however, my fingers cannot keep up with my brain and I make too many careless typo mistakes to claim the Expert title. But I love studying everything from letter patterns to morphology!
