I am a 22 year old student at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, but I live in Metairie. I am studying to be a speech therapist. I love kids and work very well with them. For the past year I have worked with a 6th grader that has ADD, dyslexia, and a writing comprehension disorder. I would go to his house every day to do homework with the boy. A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned two degrees: a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Biology. I have taken a wide range of courses in biology and have a great deal of knowledge about them all. One of my courses required me to teach in a lab. Through this I was able to gain valuable teaching experience and interact with students as well.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge of biology with others. I am patient and laid back with students, but I also know when to push them to work harder to achieve their goals. Each child requires a different level of motivation and after a few sessions I will be able to assess each students individual needs.

I graduated with my undergraduate degree in marine biology in 2002 and then worked as a research biologist for two and a half years before returning to school to pursue my master’s degree. I believe that my hands-on scientific experiences combined with my academic background allow me to convey difficult concepts to students.
