A Little Bit About Me...

I began my teaching career by substituting and volunteering at the local schools. I then completed my degree in Middle Grades Education in Social Science. When I began teaching, I taught Reading 3 of the 5 years I taught and fell in love with it. I am currently trying to complete my Reading Endorsement and follow up with a Reading Specialist degree.
I am a firm believer that all students can learn if given the proper tools and learning experiences. I worked at the University of Pennsylvania in Chemical Engineering under an Army Research Office grant, then as a software developer for the Mechical/Materials Engineering Dept. During college, I was in food service for 5 years, then a Records Clerk in county government. I was Advertising Director and Business Manager for two small, innovative Philadelphia newspapers.
