Hello, my name is Alan Reyes. I am a 19 year old college student attending the University of Florida for a BS in Physics and Astronomy. I have been playing chess for 5 years and have placed first in my section in the Jacksonville Open and two years running in the Sunshine Summer Opens 2013 and 2014. My teaching style is very specific to each student I tutor. I try to tailor my thoughts so that any student at any level in the subject can understand me. At the teaching center, the focus was to help guide the student to get the correct answer and not just give the answer. Sometimes the thinking process to achieving the correct answer is more important than the answer itself. I also try using diagrams and figures when they are called for to explain some of the topics.
