I have been an Adjunct Professor with Southern Wesleyan University for over 15 years teaching a series of management related courses. I tell the student to think of a tree. in the seconds you think of a tree, you don't think of just the tree. you think of the roots, the trunk, the limbs, the branches, the leaves. then you think of whats going on in the tree, right down to the point of the tree taking in carbon dioxide and giving off oxygen and water. I wouldn't have a "professional" description for teaching style as my education was solidly based in the sciences. However, I believe that by teaching intuitive thought processes and critical thinking skills, students can easily adapt to the tasks given be they in science or liberal arts. As a recent college graduate, I was driven to study engineering and music to create a balanced lifestyle. I have earned a bachelor of science with a major in engineering science and a minor in music. I have an adaptable teaching style. Teaching is most effective on the individual level. On the rare occasions I have been able to work one-on-one with a student, I am able to approach the material in various ways to best fit that student's needs. Most students in today's society are visual learners. Visual aides usually work the best with these students. When these students don't grasp material, usually it is because they are not able to conceptualize it. However, if you can assist by showing, the student gets a jump-start into comprehension.
