When working one on one with a student I practice a few different methods of teaching and whichever one they feel the most comfortable with and I receive the most attentiveness from, is the one that I continue to use. For example, some students prefer that you walk them through a lesson, go over a few practice problems and then let them work on assignments, knowing that they have you to assist them when needed. Others might want to jump into the assignment and when a question arises, they ask you to refer to the lesson to help them find the solution.

First and foremost, I understand that no two children learn the same. I believe many children struggle in a learning environment simply because they are not comfortable with it. I excel at personal communication, and make it my first goal to find out how the student is going to learn the best.
