Through my experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters and MAXIM Healthcare Services, I have tutored many children with different educational backgrounds that required different concentrated attention. I gauge how I tutor a child by their personal needs. I take the time needed to understand the child’s personality and listen to which is their preferred style of learning. I choose to gain their trust and build their confidence immediately. Used techniques are: verbal (lecture), visual (flashcards, diagrams, etc.), repetition (both verbal and visual), games, question and answer sessions, and more.
