I prefer that the student understands the purpose behind learning. In order to achieve my goal, I spend quality time in talking and developing an effective communication platform. As, a product of the inner city, I was always interested in helping young people who came through the same path as I. I have a BA, in Broadcast and Communication Arts, and a Masters in Social science in many history subjects. To aid in my teaching abilities, I have work, in Research and Community Development for over thirty years. Every child can learn but since everyone is different, a different approach is needed to ensure the information and abstract concepts are fully understood. Auditory learners like myself would learn best from an entertaining lecture followed by auditory questions designed for the learner to discover for him or herself what it is they were looking for with myself as a guide. Visual learners would learn best by a movie or re-enactment, and some reading. Kinesthetic learners would need a hands on experience to get a better understanding.
