My preferred teaching style for high school and college students is informal and discussion-centered, based on mutually agreed-upon goals. For teaching reading, I use a phonics-based method, which my father used when he taught me to read when I was 5, and which I used to teach my children to read. Let's get back down to the basics (Latin, History, Science)

I like to boil things down to the basics. With Latin and Science that means learning as much as one can about the basic elements and then building one step at a time on those basics. In history, it means learning the story, and telling the story.
I recieved a BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I majored in Classical Civilization (with a Latin Concentration) and History. I have 12 years of experience teaching Latin.
