My comments on tutoring Science : Some of our teachers are Certified to teach all subjects of EC-6th grade that includes Elementary science. For high school science, we listed the tutors and their skills based on the exact science. Please call us to ask who is our current elementary teacher or tutor.

Each Certified teacher has the ability and skills to individualize the teaching style, based on the child's learning style. Due to this, we offer for the teacher or tutor to do an assessment on the first session at the same fee as the tutorials. Once they do this, they are required to teach or tutor in the style fit to your child's learning and other skills for their potential and to help them reach their academic goals.

Throughout my undergraduate years, I was recognized as an outstanding student and held the maximum number of teaching assistant positions every semester. I often met students in the library to hold tutoring groups, and I handed out my phone number in case someone needed my help anytime. I am currently working on my teachers certification, and my long term goal is to teach high school science. My teaching style depends on the student and subject I'm dealing with. For the non-reading adults I started by teaching them letter recognition and basic sounds; moved on to simple words; then sentances. During my college class I would review the evening's lesson and goals, then have the students perform the exercise in the textbooks. During the practical exercise I made myself available to all the students and gave one-on-one instruction to those that needed it.
I taught all subjects for adult learners preparing for the GED tests through Region IX Education Services Center's Adult Education program for 4 years in the evenings. I have taught for 3 years at Sam Houston State University for the Department of Chemistry. As a high school student I tutored off and on for around 4 years. I am currently working on my Master's in chemistry at SHSU.
I love helping students understand concepts that seem 100% foreign to them. I teach mostly geared towards visual learners. I tend to use visual and real life examples to push my students to grasp the concepts for themselves. I prefer to make them do the work and answer questions as we move forward. I do not believe students should just be given answers. They should be given the tools to answer the questions for themselves.
