I taught 7th grade English for one year and 5th grade general education for three years. Prior to teaching, I tutored writing and study skills in our university acedemic skills department. I have also tutuored adults learning English as a second language and adults learning to read. Additionally, I have worked at after school programs, homeschooled a student who could not attend school for 3 months because of a brain injury, and volunteered as a reading partner for an elementary school student for three years. I am a graduate of Brigham Young University with a BA in English. Psychology and child development were part of my curriculum. When our children were all in school, I started substitute teaching K-12. I especially enjoyed working with K-5. I have worked as a substitute, permanent substitute and teaching assistant for about 13 years in the Concord School District (NH) and the Provo School District (UT).
