I am a professional with a B.S. degree and with 18 years experience in the health science field. I also have extensive experience in various areas of business. In addition, I am proficient in many different computer programs, which has allowed me to train and mentor people in use of various computer software. In the past year I have direct experience leading classes and teaching students. I am comfortable writing reports and essays and have excellent knowledge of English and grammar. I greatly enjoy teaching and working with students, from children to adults. I am patient and understanding and believe in positive reinforcement to motivate students. I tailor my teaching style to the student. I first evaluate where the student is by building rapport, discussing the problem he/she is having, talking to the teacher, and talking to the parents. I then begin focusing on the area where the student is having difficulties. It may be that the student requires help with homework as well as review of fundamentals. I address both areas, always encouraging the student. I have taught as a tutor in High School, and college. I also taught in the adult education system of Fairborn, Ohio. I have acted as a group home monitor for MR/DD adults. I am presently tutoring a young adult in cost control and algebra.
