My name is Andrea Richards. I have been teaching in the elementary school for 27 years. I have been a certified Reading Interventionist since 2005. At that time I was trained in Reading Recovery. My discontinuation rate averages over 80%. I was also trained at The Ohio State University in how to implement Leveled Literacy Intervention developed by Fountas and Pinnell. In addition, I have received Barton Training, and I am currently working on getting my Orton Gillingham Certification to aide with helping even more severe dyslexia needs. In 2022, I successfully completed my IMSE Phonemic Awareness and Comprehension Plus training. I love teaching and seeing students understand.

I prefer one-on-one and I teach phonics approach to reading.
I have taught Elementary Education in Ohio for 30 years. I taught GED for Garrard County for 10 years.I have always enjoyed working with students who do not understand their subjects, especially in Math. I will change the teaching to fit the student, if understanding is not happening. There is nothing like hearing a student say, "Now I understand, no one has ever shown me that learning can be fun!"
