My comments on tutoring World History : I taught my daughters world history that took two years to complete. We especially loved covering ancient civilizations and medieval times. We also deloved into all the changes that the Renaissance brought to the world. I am currectly teaching my 4th grader ancient civilzations for the first time.

I received my training from Cedarville University, Wright State University, Plymouth State College and Keene State College. I received my BA from Cedarville University in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Special Education. I completed more training through a teacher mentor program through Plymouth State College to gain my Special Education certification in NH. I took 9 credits towards my masters at Keene State in the area of Special Education. I taught for 6 years in a rural school in NH, where I was a self-contained special ed. teacher for 4 years and a 4th grade teacher for 2 years. My teaching style is one of friendly leadership. Working through problems or lessons with the student by leading them through it, then working it with them side by side while explaining the details helps them achieve the accomplishment of learning without making them feel as if they were just instructed how to do it. Helping a student learn is more than just teaching them a lesson in math, science, or English; it’s about being someone that they can look up to as a role model, being someone that they can learn from in more than just an academic manner, and being someone who is there for them when they need something. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught 4 and 5th grade in the Texas School Systems for 24 years. I worked as a retired teacher in the Adams Wells Special Services Coop for 3 years (2006-2009)as a teacher's aide with special needs students both in the elementary and high school levels. Those children varied from autistic, cerebal palsy, Attention Deficit Disorders with and without Hyperactivity. I really enjoyed working with these students to help them with their reading, math, and overall achievement. I am currently employed as a substitute teacher with the North Adams Community Schools on K-12 Levels. I was a tutor while in college. I tutored students in History, Accounting, and Greek. I was a double major:Accounting and Christian Ministry. I was a substitute teacher in Indiana from 1990-1994. My undergraduate degree is in French however I took extensive coursework in mathematics and chemistry and have a good understanding of all the sciences. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored other students in science courses and lead a laboratory course. These were rewarding experiences as I watched my peers learn and thrive in academics. While working toward my Masters in Environmental Science I was able to teach the laboratory portion of an introductory course for two years. This allowed me to develop lesson plans, tests and quizzes and lab activities.
