I just recently completed my first semester of teaching University 101 at the University of South Carolina. This course allowed me to find out how much I enjoy teaching. I like to be able to make a personal connection with the students and learn about their learning styles and much more. I feel like each person who is in a teaching capacity has the ability to motivate and help each child in the classroom. It is just up to each one of us to decide how much time and effort we are willing to put into each student. I am a hands on kind of teacher. I like to find ways to make teaching come to life and be a fun and enjoyable experience for the student. The more one on one I can be the better. I think you can be a better teacher when you know and understand your students more. I still maintain a great relationship with girls I counseled at camp back in 2001 and 2002. Many of my students from Korea also still keep in touch with me. Building a relationship is very important to the learning process. I like to take students to places they've never been before. Teaching them about how the world works and showing them things outside of their normal world so that you can foster a quest for knowledge they will carry throughout their life.

I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.
