A Little Bit About Me...

In my 6 years of teaching experience I’ve come to find out that there is no such thing as a “stupid question.” Each child or adult has a specific way of learning according to their own character. That’s the reason some are faster to learn mathematical concepts while others are faster in literary concepts. I believe in going slow and asking my students to explain what they’ve learned in their own words. If they can do this easily it means they have mastered the concepts. I usually encourage pre-reading before tutoring sessions. A student who has read the chapter ahead will absorb information more easily than one who has not read ahead.

A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, I developed a passion for teaching and helping others achieve the academic success that I enjoyed. I tutored during each of my final three years, mostly in the various science classes that I took. During the past year, I have been teaching the Physics section of the MCAT for the Princeton Review, a nationwide test prep company. I have also tutored for a couple different companies, ranging from Geometry and Algebra to Organic Chemistry.
I have always felt that tutoring should offer a much more laid-back approach at getting concepts across to students. Ever since I can remember I have enjoyed helping others to learn. There is something indescribably fulfilling in imparting knowledge to others. During my time in college I earned a BS in Biology with a Biomedical focus and a minor in Chemistry. While there I worked as a tutor and laboratory teacher's assistant for General Biology, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. My knowledge in the area of Biology and especially medicine was expanded with the year and a half of medical school that I completed prior to getting married.
