A Little Bit About Me...

My approach to teaching students mathematics is to first ensure they understand the basics. In my experience, students typically have trouble learning new material because they have not mastered the previous material, which is typically a prerequisite to understanding the new material. I believe with enough time spent on the basics, any student can learn more advanced mathematical concepts. Once I feel their understanding of the previous material is strong, I walk them through example problems and then have them solve increasingly difficult problems on their own. However, I am very flexible with my teaching methods; if they have trouble with this model, I am willing to try different things to ensure they are learning.

I currently work as an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at Jamestown Community College. I have completed both a B.S. and M.S.Ed in Mathematics Education from SUNY Fredonia. I have taught in school districts in both Cattaraugus and Chautauqua County. My experience includes teaching and tutoring students from 6th grade up to and including Sophomore college students.
I love teaching and working with students. I believe all students can learn, but each in different ways. I am available to help your student find academic success in mathematics. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best mathematics education possible.
