English and elementary skills are my best field. I had a college level english when I was in 8th grade. Math is an okay subject for elementary but I'm not the best at algrebra or higher. My spelling skills and writing skills are excellent. Like I have said before my total english level was a college level when I was in 8th grade. If you need help with your english or science it's a really good idea to come to me with it.
I will work with the children to fit their needs in the subject. My teaching style usually blends in with the child's learning ability.

In order to avoid boredom and to get students active in their learning, they need to move, collaborate, and have discussions and Socratic Circles to debate and argue their ideas in a reasonable way to prepare them for what goes beyond grade school. Students should be involved in projects that involve creation, and thinking outside of the box. We should be teaching our students to use digital tools in order to take an interest in learning outside of the classroom. Fun and intense. I refuse to be drab or boring. Associate learning with life, colors, songs, music, memories, movies and media. Pete and Repeat were sitting on a fence. Pete fell off. Who was left? High school was a blast, and I loved every moment!! I was the history buff, drama geek, grammar police and still am to this day. If you want something bad enough, you must fight for it.

I am patient but firm. If a student isn't willing to put in a 100% effort then I will not waste my time. I have always gotten exemplary grades from anyone I've tutored. I teach each student differently, some are more visual, or auditory, or hands-on, and I adjust my methods to better benefit my students. Bottom line: I will work hard for you, and I expect you to work hard for you too.
I have always written, and I have always loved doing it. The same goes for reading. I have tutored various class mates through college, and have also worked at a children's enrichment center (I am currently employed there) where I teach basic reading and writing. I am also currently editing a friends novel. I made the Dean's list two years in a row, graduated with the two highest literary awards under my belt, and I have been published in the Equinox and In My Lifetime.

I am a college sophomore majoring in English with a double minor in teaching and learning and psychology. I hope to become a high school English teacher in the future.
