I have taught public school in the Montgomery County School System for 26 years. I retired May 2010. I have taught grades 1-6 in All subject areas. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1983 from Auburn University. I received my Master's Degree in Education from Troy State University at Montgomery in 1990. I have worked extensively with children in many areas due to the No Child left Behind Act. I have been to a Reading Academy, workshops, on the job training, and have been given title of model teacher. This is where new teachers come to observe my teaching of new programs that were put in place.

A Little Bit About Me...

I did not realize I wanted to become a teacher until after I took a long-term substitute job while looking for employment. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and decided to further my education so that I could continue to teach. My undergraduate degree is in Mass Communications and Public Relations, which has helped me relate to all different students effectively and in different ways. My graduate degree is an Alternative Master's Degree in Secondary Language Arts. I have taught English in grades 7-12 for the past 14 years, and also taught Journalism and English as a Second Language while tutoring at night and in the summers.
