Upon relocation to kansas city, Missouri, in 2001, I began training in a teacher education program, 2003, Kansas City Missouri school district, earning teacher certification, Adult Basic Education,2003. Such included teaching GED related courses,2003-2007, and substitute teaching, k-12. I also served in telemarketing for both the Kansas City Star Newspaper and the Nelson Gallery of Art, 2002-2009. I enjoy teaching students how they learn. It is very important that students know their learning style. My goal is to help them learn how they best retain information. I believe that if a student is able to utilize all the senses that allow them to remember the information that they have received, it will build their confidence in the classroom and as they pursue higher education.
As a student at Kansas State University, I have learned the importance of the pursuit of higher education. I have earned a BS in Psychology, an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, and will pursue a PhD in Family Life Education and Consultation starting during the 2009-2010 school year. I have written a lot of essays and read numerous research papers. For over a year and a half, I have tutored students in English, psychology, mathematics and sciences.

I have always loved teaching and tutoring. Whether it is friends, family, children, or college students, the potential to learn present in anyone has always astounded me. Through encourgment, repetition, and practicallity anyone is capable of learning under a caring teacher. Frustration is often the biggest deterent to anyone seeking education, and a tutor with kindness, understanding, and most importantly, patience is the most important factor in overcoming it.
As a graduate student at Kansas State University I have learned the value of education. My education in Political Science working towards my BS has given a high degree of competence in math, history, and social sciences.
