I was very involved with theater in high school and learned a lot about acting and auditioning. I am currently an English major, specifying in creative writing, at Virginia Tech. In high school, I took both of the offered AP English courses and passed with a 4 on both. In college, almost every class I have taken has been English-oriented, with regards to either literature or writing. When it comes to helping others, I have been editing friends' papers some in high school and multiple times weekly in college. I am able to find what they are doing wrong and constructively advise ways to fix their problems with writing. I like to see examples of what the person is having difficulty with in order to pinpoint problems and then work on them from there.

I enjoy teaching individuals of all ages and cultures. I adopt a hands on approach to learning and have extreme patience for slower learners. My main goal during teaching is to help one have a better understanding of the subject by relating to the material. To reach this goal it is imperative that I am resourceful enough to provide my students with vital and accurate information. During high school I interned in a first grade classroom for one year in which I planmed/taught lessons. I also have young siblings and family members which I help with assignments on a daily basis.
