A Little Bit About Me...

I started out as a Computer Instructor and enjoyed teaching computer classes but something was missing. I saw that my children was not getting the education in the school system that I desired for them. I had wonderful teachers in school and Math was my favorite subject. I am now a degreed, homeschool mom of a 12th grader and a 9th grader - this is our 4th year. I have been a practicing Math Tutor for the past 15 years and tutor in Basic Math through Algebra 2. I love the subject of Algebra. I have been tutoring private students in Algebra 2 for 5 years now. My comments on tutoring Typing Skills : With over 50 years of experience I am able to expertly teach/tutor all keyboarding skills for better "typing" skills.

I believe in tutoring so that the child receives feedback and fully understands his/her own limitations and how to overcome obstacles in class. Many children lack positivity in the methodology! I also believe that using art instruction helps children to learn in a more creative manner.
I have over of 30 years of progressive experience in tutoring young children in the elementary years of education in all subject matter areas. My specialty is literacy and reading, but I am also adept in teaching all of the math curricula as well. I also firmly believe that teaching organizational skills and proper research methodologies are very important for the classroom today--and every child needs these skills in order to excel in the classroom and survive. I am also a qualified art teacher in the NOVA area.
